Ademola Lookman’s Atalanta extended their unbeaten run across all competitions on Monday night.
Lookman featured for over an hour as Atalanta secured 2-0 victory over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
The 27-year-old wide forward was quite average in the match. Although the Super Eagles forward had his goal ruled off for offside in the first half.
The first half was somewhat balanced as both sides tried to gain control of the match but the away side were the better side of the two.
After several attempts without a goal, the deadlock was broken eventually on the 69th minute shortly after Lookman’s exit.
Marten de Roon’s shot from the edge of the box took a defection as the ball sailed into the back of the net to give the away side the lead.
Roma had quite a number of shots towards goal in the second half but none threatened Carnesecchi in between the sticks.
Nicolo Zaniolo strikes a danger into the heart of his former team with a bullet header from Cuadrador’s corner kick to seal the victory for the visitors.
Atalanta are now second on the log with 31 points – a point behind league leaders and defending champions Inter Milan.
