Donny Van de Beek’s agent, Sjaak Swart, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the Manchester United midfielder’s lack of game time so far.
The Netherlands international made the £40 million switch from Ajax to Old Trafford this summer and is United’s only major signing of the summer with less than a week left of the transfer window to go.
Van de Beek has made just one start for the Red Devils so far in the 3-0 win over Luton in the Carabao Cup, but been reduced to appearances off the bench in the Premier League.
The midfielder scored on his debut against Crystal Palace, while he won the corner which led to United’s last-gasp penalty to edge a narrow victory over Brighton on Sunday.
However, his agent Swart is not at all happy with his role being restricted to substitute appearances.
‘A substitute, I don’t like it at all,’ he told Voetbal Primeur.
‘I couldn’t do it myself, substituting in with four minutes left to play. Then you’d better let me sit down.
‘But normally they should have lost 1-7. Five times post and bar, Brighton… They have a nice team, but that shouldn’t happen to Manchester United.’
