Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina was in action for all 90 minutes as Nottingham Forest registered a narrow win over Ipswich Town. Compatriot, Taiwo Awoniyi was an unused substitute during the game.
The hosts started well, with Ryan Yates seeing a goalbound effort cleared off the line by Sam Szmodics following Callum Hudson-Odoi’s cut-back.
Forest had to make a goal line clearance of their own down the other end though, as Aina was in the right place to keep out Cameron Burgess’ header.
The hosts eventually broke the deadlock four minutes after the restart after Jota was tripped by Szmodics inside the area, and Chris Wood stepped up to score his ninth goal of the season, blasting his spot-kick down the middle.
Forest remained resolute and held on to the narrow lead despite Ipswich’s desperate efforts.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have been having an impressive start to the season and currently sit sixth o the log.
