Alex Iwobi almost ruined Graham Potter’s Premier League debut as Westham’s new coach.

Iwobi found the back of the net twice for Fulham on Tuesday night as the Cottagers fall to defeat at Westham.

The midfielder continued his impressive run in the league this season as he scored two second half goals at the London Stadium.

Fulham started the match on unconvincing note as they fell to a 2-0 deficit in quick succession.

Carlos Soler and Tomas Soucek put the Hammers in a comfortable position after 33 minutes of football.

Soler took advantage of a defensive error to gave Westham the lead while Soucek showed great determination in the box before burying the ball into the roof of the net after a brilliant pass form Wan Bissaka.

Raul Jimenez almost halved the deficit moments later but his header came off the bar.

The Hammers took a comfortable lead to the first break to the delight of the home fans.

However, Alex Iwobi reduced the deficit six minutes into the second half with a sublime strike from the edge of the box.

Fulham’s defense on the night was an eyesore. Bernd Leno passed the ball towards Lucas Paqueta’s path.

The Brazilian slammed the ball into the back of the net to restore Westham’s 2-goal advantage.

Alex Iwobi scored a goal of the season contender as he buried a ferocious strike from range to reduce the deficit again.

Unfortunately, Iwobi’s goals couldn’t secure a point for Marco Silva’s men as they lost 3-2 to the home side.
