Manchester United new boy Amad Diallo thanked Harry Maguire after Red Devils’ captain welcomed the winger to Old Trafford.
The 18-year-old is set to join United in January after the club agreed a £37.3million deal with Serie A club Atalanta for his services.
The Ivorian is rated as one of the best prospects in Italy and though he’s made just three league appearances for the club, United believe his value will skyrocket in coming years and so decided to pull the trigger now.
While United fans were furious at the club’s failure to land Jadon Sancho, Diallo offers hope for the future and his arrival clearly excited club captain Maguire.
The former Leicester defender welcomed Diallo on Instagram by sharing United’s official confirmation of their deal to sign the winger.
And it’s clear that the teenager was appreciative of Maguire’s message as he replied to thank the skipper for his warm welcome.
On the winger’s official Instagram page, Diallo simply replied: ‘Thank you cap’ followed by a series of loveheart emojis.
Diallo’s appreciation of Maguire is certainly not shared by United supporters at this moment in time following the defender’s dismal performance in a 6-1 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.
The defender was one of another of appalling performers in the harrowing loss but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists he’s happy with his centre-back options.
The club signed Diallo, Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri on deadline day but United failed to recruit a central defender, despite conceding 11 times in their first three Premier League matches.
