Amorim hints what to improve on after defeat to Arsenal

Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim has hinted what he would improve on after the loss to Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Two second half goals from Jurrien Timber  and William Saliba ensured the Gunners handed Amorim his defeat of his Manchester United era.

While speaking to responding to what he would improve on when Manchester United face Arsenal again, the 39-year-old simply said, “set pieces.”

Amorim added that it’s difficult to defend against Arsenal’s set pieces because his team have only a few days to train while the latter has been practicing the art for two years.

“We have to understand they have years of doing that. Arsenal can change games like that. We tried to defend them with the space of two days to train but it’s hard for every team to defend Arsenal’s set-pieces.”

Arsenal’s second half goals came via two corner-kicks which secured maximum points for Mikel Arteta’s side.

However, Amorim expressed delight in the structure and pattern of play of the team while citing his team need more ideas in the final phase of attack.

“You can see the structure, you can see the idea. You can see the bounce between the centre-backs and the midfield. But then you can see we need work in the final third. We need more ideas. You can see how hard it is.”
