Rudiger will reportedly be left out of the Chelsea squad for the second consecutive game, with Lampard leaving him out for Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup clash with Championship side Barnsley.
Rudiger and his agent, according to the Telegraph, will now actively seek his departure.
It’s expected that he will leave Stamford Bridge on loan.
Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli are the top targets for Rudiger’s representatives, although it’s unclear if either side is interested in signing the Germany international.
Rudiger has been pushed further down the pecking order since Thiago Silva’s arrival to west London and he is now their fifth-choice centre-back.
The 27-year-old is unwilling to accept that status in Chelsea’s squad and he is now looking to leave.
Lampard refused to rule out Rudiger’s exit along with young winger Callum Hudson-Odoi on Tuesday.
‘We’re not in a period where the transfer window or market is acting like it has done in recent years in terms of how players move or what level they move at,’ said the Chelsea manager.
‘My priority will always be making sure I maintain and keep the strongest squad I can for this club but after that, of course, the individual conversations will happen within that.
‘I will try and make sure I go into the season once the window shuts with the squad that I feel is competitive in a healthy way.’
