N’Dicka has caught Arsenal’s attention with a series of outstanding performances on the left side of a back-three in the Bundesliga this season, with Arteta considering reverting to the 3-4-3 formation that helped win them the FA Cup last term.
The Spaniard has made it clear he’s keen to add a commanding centre-half to his ranks and the Gunners have drawn up a shortlist of possible options, with N’Dicka emerging as a serious target.
According to The Daily Express, talks between Arsenal and N’Dicka’s entourage are well underway and an agreement could be reached for a fee as little as £19million ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
The report claims Arsenal are in pole position to land the sought-after Frenchman, with the club short of options at centre-back after Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos departed for Schalke and Olympiakos respectively last summer.
Calum Chambers is also deemed surplus to requirements and looks set to make way after his seventh year at the Emirates.
Arsenal already have a good relationship with N’Dicka’s agent, Michael N’Cho Ibou, who was at the heart of negotiations two years ago when he helped broker Nicolas Pepe’s £72m switch from Lille to north London.
The Gunners have been admirers of Bissouma for some time and have asked to be kept informed about any developments over the midfielder’s future.
