Arsenal are in discussions with Serie A side Torino over a loan move for Lucas Torreira, reports say.
The midfielder has seriously fallen down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta and has featured sporadically for Arsenal since recovering from injury.
Arsenal are prepared to offload Torreira, but would prefer to cash in on the Uruguay international so they can push ahead with deals for other players.
Torino are the latest Italian team attempting to bring Torreira back to Serie A and Fiorentina are also closely monitoring developments.
Talks between Arsenal and Torino are progressing and the Italians would pay two installements totalling £22million for Torreira.
That would represent a loss for Arsenal on the 24-year-old who they paid £26m for in 2018.
If Arteta is to land Partey, he will need to free up space in his squad. Torreira was left out of Arsenal’s opening day victory over Fulham.
Arsenal have also been linked with Houssem Aouar, but like Partey, the Gunners have been unable to match Lyon’s asking price for the midfielder.
The transfer window remains open until 5 October this year and Arsenal have already made two big signings with the arrival of attacker Willian and centre-back Gabriel.
