Arsenal are nearing a new long-term contract for wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri, rewarding his rapid rise.
According to Mail Sport, the proposed deal is up to five years and will reward the youngster for an excellent breakout season.
Nwaneri, 18, has scored eight goals in 29 appearances this season, impressing on the right wing in Bukayo Saka’s absence. He signed his first professional contract with Arsenal last year, aged 17, which is set to expire in three years.
The north London club is keen to secure Nwaneri’s long-term future. He has surpassed expectations with his quick progression this season.
Arsenal have previously fended off interest from Chelsea and Manchester City and will hope this new deal kills all speculation for good.
Nwaneri made history by becoming the youngest player to appear in the Premier League, debuting against Brentford on September 18, 2022, aged 15 years and 181 days.
He has since impressed at youth team level and become a permanent member of the first-team squad this season.
