Barcelona Legends played a friendly against Real Madrid Legends in a special Clasico in Qatar on Thursday.
Juan Pablo Sorin opened the scoring, finishing well at the back post, before Ronaldinho doubled the lead as he clipped a sensational free-kick into the top corner from 20 yards out.
Real Madrid drew level in the second half, scoring two goals in the space of five minutes. Edwin Congo slid a pass through to Luis Figo who made no mistake from close range. Congo then got himself on the scoresheet as he took advantage of a Frank de Boer mistake to run clean through on goal and equalise.
Barcelona had the opportunity to win it late on after they were awarded a penalty when Luis Figo fouled Ricardo Quaresma. Patrick Kluivert was, however, unable to convert as his effort was saved by Pedro Contreras as the game ended in a draw.
A penalty shoot out decided the game in the end, and despite Frank de Boer’s penalty being saved by Contreras, Angoy saved from both Congo and Amavisca as Barcelona won 4-2 on penalties.
