Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has confirmed that one of the team’s major objective come the next transfer window will be to sign a star striker and Harry Kane is top on their list.
The German giants were knocked out at the of the Champions League on Wednesday night, succumbing to a 4-1 aggregate defeat to their former coach Pep Guardiola who has qualified Manchester city to back-to-back semi finals.
Since Robert Lewandowski left the Bavarians, they have been unable to replace the goal machine. Former PSG striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has scored 17 goals this season but he still hasn’t fill the huge shoes of the Polish striker.
Speaking after the game against Man City, Hainer admitted that the lack of a top nine is a clear tactical weakness that they will need to sort out.
The German champions first made their interest of Harry Kane known last season when then-manager Julian Nagelsmann publicly revealed his admiration of the striker.
However, Bayern are still very much interested in signing Kane, with his contract set to expire in 2024.
Kane will reassess his stance over a new deal with Spurs once the club appoint a permanent successor to Antonio Conte
