Bayern Munich have made an approach to sign Brighton right-back Tariq Lamptey, according to reports in Germany.
The 19-year-old has delivered several impressive displays for Brighton after joining from Chelsea in a £3 million deal in January.
According to Sport1, Bayern have now turned their attention to Lamptey and are looking to strike a deal with Brighton before the window closes.
The report claims that Bayern have already made an approach to Lamptey’s representatives but the German champions are not yet willing to meet Brighton’s asking price.
Brighton are reportedly demanding €25 million (£22.8m) but Bayern are only willing to offer €15m (£13.6m).
Chelsea fans were unhappy to see Lamptey leave following his impressive debut against Arsenal in December.
But the England Under-21 international insists it was the right time to leave Stamford Bridge.
‘I had been there from a really young age so it was not an easy decision to make but you get to a point where you look at what the best thing is for your career and you speak to your family members and the people around you who help you and how you can take your game to the next level and how you can improve,’ Lamptey told The Telegraph last week.
‘I am not one to sit back and rest on my laurels. I want to keep going and keep driving forward so I felt it was the right time for me to make the move and come to a club like Brighton which hopefully can give me the opportunity to develop into the player I know I can be.’
