Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka stole the show with two assists and a goal as the Gunners thrashed West Ham 5-2 at the London Stadium.
The win moves Arsenal six points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Saka’s impressive performance has taken his direct goal contributions in the Premier League to 15 (5 goals, 10 assists), making a strong case for the league’s Player of the Year award.
He will be up against Liverpool’s star man Mohamed Salah for that award.
Both players are the only two stars who have scored and assisted in four different Premier League games this season, and been directly involved in 15+ Premier League goals this season.
Fans on social media have already begun to sing Saka’s praises.
One user on X wrote: “Saka just one less G/A than Salah who’s having a ‘Ballon d’Or campaign.”
Another user chimed in, saying: “Saka is the best player in the league.”
The accolades continued, with a third user commenting: “It is time to have that conversation, Saka should be a Ballon d’Or contender next season.”
Saka’s resurgence has coincided with the return of Martin Odegaard, and it’s clear that Liverpool will need to keep a close eye on the Gunners’ rising star.
