Mohammed Salah is set to sign a new contract at Liverpool after months of speculation about the future of the three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner.
Salah and Liverpool, according to reports, are now close to reaching an agreement on his contract renewal after months of back and forth between both parties.
European football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano says agreement between Salah and the club is at a final stage and announcement would be made soon.
He also added that the club is making positive progress on Virgil Van Dijk’s contract renewal as well as Liverpool is keen on keeping both players at Anfield.
“Mo Salah, closing in on new deal at Liverpool as agreement is now at the final stages. Club confident to get it done soon, same for Virgil van Dijk who recently confirmed positive progress made. Salah and #LFC, expected to continue together.”
Mohammed Salah signed a contract extension with Liverpool on July 1, 2022 until at least 2025 and scored a goal and provided an assist twenty-nine days later in the Community Shield win over Manchester City.
Salah is having a remarkable season as he leads the topscoretop scorersith 27 goals and 17 assists in 31 matches.
He became the first player to score at least 25 goals and 15 assists in the history of the Premier League.
