VVinicius Jr Vinicius Jr has been named The Best Men’s Player of the Year by FIFA in an award ceremony held in Doha on Tuesday night.
The Real Madrid forward wins the award for the most outstanding men’s player of the year for 2024 after losing the Ballon D’or to Rodri in October.
Vinicius Jr was instrumental to Real Madrid’s run in the UEFA Champions League as they won their 15th title.
En route to the final, Vinicius Jr scored 6 goals and provided 5 assists in 10 matches.
The forward scored in the final as Los Blancos beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley in May.
The Brazilian forward scored 24 goals in 39 appearances for Real Madrid as they completed the double last season.
Vinicius Jr becomes the first Brazilian recipient to win the award.
He scored 48 points to beat Rodri, 43 and Jude Bellingham 37 to win FIFA’s version of the Ballon D’or.
