Super Falcons duo, Chiamaka Nnadozie and Rasheedat Ajibade lead the list of 10 nominees for CAF Women’s Player of the Year released by CAF on Wednesday.
Other footballers on the list include Thembi Kgatlana of South Africa, the Zambian duo of Barbara Banda and Racheal Kundananji, and Sandrine Niyonkuru (Burundi) Tabitha Chawinga and Temwa Chawinga (Malawi), Sanaa Mssoudy (Morocco) and Jermaine Seoposenwe (South Africa).
Nnadozie has also been nominated for the Goalkeeper of the Year along with her international teammate Mobile Oyono of Edo Queens.
The duo are in contention with Cathy Biya (Cameroon), Fideline Ngoy (DR Congo), Habiba Sabry (Egypt), Fatima El Jabraoi and Khadija Er-Rmichi (Morocco), Andile Dlamini and Thandeka Ngcobo (South Africa) as well as Zambia’s Catherine Musonda.
Falconets duo, Chiamaka Okwuchukwu and Flourish Sabastine are in the running for the Young Player of the Year. Other contenders for the award include Cathy Biya (Cameroon) Naomi Eto (Cameroon), Habiba Sabry (Egypt), Stella Nyamekye (Ghana), Valerie Nekesa (Kenya), Doha El Madani and Lina Mokhtar Jamai (Morocco) and Nthabiseng Majiya (South Africa)
The CAF Awards 2024 will be held on December 16 in Marrakech, Morocco
