Chelsea continued their flawless start to the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) campaign with a hard-earned 2-0 win away at Bundesliga side Heidenheim.
There was a lot left to be desired in the first half as it ended goalless, with Heidenheim keeper Kevin Muller repeatedly frustrating Chelsea.
That changed in the second half when Christopher Nkunku broke the deadlock from a Jadon Sancho cross to score his seventh European goal in six matches.
Chelsea found themselves under pressure from the Germans with Filip Jorgensen pulling off an impressive double save on Frank Wanner to protect Chelsea’s lead.
Chelsea eventually put the game to bed with Mykhailo Mudryk curling a beautiful effort into the top right corner in the 86th minute after a beautiful one-two exchange between Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Sancho.
Enzo Maresca’s side sit on top of the Conference League table with four wins out of four and they remain solid favorites to lift the trophy.
