Chelsea midfielder Hakim Ziyech impressed during his 30-minute cameo in Morocco’s 3-1 victory over Senegal on Friday evening.
Ziyech had been training with Chelsea’s first-team squad before the international break but was not fit enough to make his first appearance for Frank Lampard’s side.
However, Ziyech was named in Morocco’s squad and made his return from injury in the second half of their friendly against Senegal in Rabat.
Ziyech needed little time to make an impact as he played a key part in the intricate build-up for Youssef En-Nesryi’s goal.
The 30-year-old then turned provider as his superb delivery from a free kick on the left flank was met by Youssef El Arabi, who headed the ball into the net.
Chelsea supporters are eagerly anticipating seeing Ziyech in action following his sublime performances for Ajax over the last two seasons.
Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was also set to feature for Senegal in their friendly against Morocco but he was forced to pull out of the squad after suffering an injury in training on Wednesday.
