Chelsea secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, thanks to goals from Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez.
The win was a welcome gift for Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, who was returning to his former club.
Jackson opened the scoring in the 15th minute, capitalizing on a mistake by Wout Faes.
The Senegal forward’s persistence paid off as he pressured Faes into an error, and then slotted the ball into the bottom corner after receiving a return pass from Fernandez.
Leicester pushed hard for an equalizer, with Wilfred Ndidi and Kasey McAteer both coming close.
However, it wasn’t until the late stages of the game that Leicester was awarded a penalty, which Jordan Ayew converted to score his third league goal of the season.
Despite this consolation goal, Chelsea held on to secure crucial three points and move clear of Arsenal in third place.
