Bayern boss Hansi Flick confirmed the German club’s interest in the 19-year-old on Saturday, while also singing his praises.
‘He is one of the greatest talents in that position, Flick said ahead of his side’s clash against Hertha Berlin on Sunday. ‘He can play wide and as a No.10 so it’s entirely legitimate that we at Bayern Munich are interested in him.’
According to the Daily Mail, their interest has resulted in an astounding offer in the form of a season-long loan deal with an included option to buy next summer for £70m.
That approach was swiftly turned down by the west London club, but Bayern are expected to come back in with another bid before Monday’s transfer window deadline.
Despite starting Saturday’s 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, with Christian Pulisic returning from injury and Hakim Ziyech not far away either, it remains to be seen how many more opportunities Hudson-Odoi will get for game time.
The report states that the England international is likely to consider a move to Bayern.
‘There is no definitive answer [about his future] but by Monday, we will have one,’ he said.
‘If Bayern have declared an interest then that’s one thing but as I’ve said before, everything that happens by Monday will be things that are firstly good for us as a club because Callum’s our player and also what Callum wants will come into consideration but it has to be right for everybody.
‘At the minute, I want Callum part of my squad.’
