Chris Wilder have confirmed Sheffield United have made an offer for Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun.
The Sheffield United head coach is desperate for his side to sign another forward and the Premier League team has also been linked with Liverpool goalscorer Rhian Brewster.
Sheffield United reportedly had a £3million rejected by Arsenal and Wilder was asked about his side’s efforts to sign Balogun.
‘Yeah, we made an enquiry,’ he replied. ‘That’s left with the CEO at our club and at Arsenal.
‘We want attributes that suit us at the top of the club and hopefully move us forward.’
‘We have made a few enquiries and hopefully before the window shuts we can add one to the group,’ he continued.
‘It’s a decent group of strikers. Would definitely love to add one and hopefully we can do that.’
He added: ‘I have been vocal on it. We want to add another one especially with Lys (Mousset) missing. It’s a key area where games are decided.
‘We didn’t capitalise on our chances the other night.
‘We cannot compete in terms of a financial point of view, we have to be cute and smart.’
Balogun has trained with the first team, however, under Mikel Arteta and garnered praise from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after one session.
Southampton, AC Milan and Brighton have also expressed an interest in the 19-year-old.
