The Spain international flourished under Arteta’s management last season, ending his first loan spell with the Gunners on a high by playing a prominent role in the Gunners’ FA Cup triumph.
Ceballos has had to wait patiently to learn his fate during the close season but has again been deemed surplus to requirements by Real manager Zidane, witch whom he has endured a fractious relationship.
‘Real Madrid CF and Arsenal FC have agreed to loan the player Dani Ceballos for the next season, until June 30, 2021,’ the La Liga giants confirmed in an official statement on Friday night.
The 24-year-old had reportedly been keen on the idea of returning to another of his former club, Real Betis, but Arteta’s powers of persuasion have ultimately helped prove decisive.
According to Marca, Ceballos will spend the entirety of the 2020/21 campaign with Arsenal but the deal does not include an option to make the deal permanent come the end of the season.
