The England international was taken off at half time in Spurs’ 1-0 defeat to Everton during the opening weekend of the new Premier League season and has been left out of his side’s following two league games.
Alli has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, however, Mourinho has said that he expects the midfielder to still be at Tottenham after the transfer window closes on October 5.
Bent, however, has urged Alli to look for a new club after falling out of favour with Mourinho.
‘For players at times, he’s been at Tottenham for a while now, and I think maybe he’s a product of a process where he’s been at Spurs, they’ve got to the Champions League final, but other than that, there’s been a couple of top-four finishes,’ Bent told talkSPORT.
‘I think any player comes a point where they ened a fresh challenge.
‘I think for Dele Alli, Mourinho has come in, they’ve clashed, and I think he’s thinking, ‘I need a new challenge here’.
‘I think he deserves that. He’s not going to be happy playing Carabao Cup games because they play Chelsea in the week and if they get beat that’s no more Carabao Cup. So are we saying we won’t see him in the Premier League for weeks and weeks?
‘We can’t wait until the FA Cup, so if I’m Dele Alli I’m looking at an option to get out of there.’
Bent, who is an Arsenal fan, was then asked if he would like the Gunners to sign Alli.
‘100 per cent,’ Bent replied.
‘I wouldn’t even hesitate.’
‘There are others waiting for the same minutes,’ said the Spurs boss.
‘It is an internal fight, fight between friends. Everyone will get chances to play.’
Asked if Alli will still be at Tottenham after the transfer window shuts, Mourinho replied: ‘I believe so.’
