Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Stade Brest in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League knockout phase playoff on Tuesday night.
The match, held at Brest’s home ground, showcased PSG’s dominance and featured a standout performance by Ousmane Dembélé.
The scoring commenced in the 21st minute when Vitinha converted a penalty, awarded after Brest’s Pierre Lees-Melou was penalized for a handball inside the box.
Ousmane Dembélé doubled PSG’s lead by cutting inside from the right flank and delivering a low shot past Brest’s goalkeeper, Marco Bizot. He further extended the lead in the 66th minute, capitalizing on a loose ball in the box to secure his brace.
Dembélé’s two goals not only highlighted his current form but also brought his tally to 23 goals across all competitions this season—a personal best in his career.
This encounter marked only the second time two French clubs have faced each other in Champions League history.
PSG’s decisive away victory places them in a favorable position ahead of the return leg at Parc des Princes on February 19. Brest, despite showing moments of resilience, now faces a formidable challenge to overturn the deficit in Paris.
