Spurs look set to bring Bale back to the Premier League with a loan move for the Real Madrid superstar after he has been frozen out in the Spanish capital under Zinedine Zidane.
The Welshman is now 31-years-old and has not been playing regularly for months, causing some to question Tottenham’s move for their former star player.
However, Berbatov, who briefly played with Bale at Spurs from 2007-08, thinks his return will create the league’s most feared attack as the Champions League winner links up with Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dele Alli, under the management of Jose Mourinho.
‘I don’t know too much about Jose Mourinho or how he will get the best out of Bale, but I have faith that they will work well together,’ Berbatov told Betfair.
‘Bale will have spoken to Mourinho before this deal is done and it will be part of the reason he wants to return.
‘Bale, Kane, Son, Dele Alli – managers would kill for this front-line. How Mourinho sets the team out is a different question, and that will not be easy to answer, but they are all proven goalscorers and star players, so it’s a good problem to have.
‘On paper, they now have the strongest front-line in the league along with Liverpool. But Spurs’ fab four have never played together so we will have to see how they gel.
Bale left Spurs seven years ago for £85m, and while he has achieved immense success at Real Madrid, his relationship with manager Zidane is in a dreadful state and he is no longer wanted at the club.
The Welshman has scored 105 goals in his seven seasons in Spain, winning two La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues.
His time now appears to be up, though, with a deal to bring him back to north London reportedly extremely close.
