Dortmund manager Michael Zorc insists the club are planning on keeping Jadon Sancho despite interest from Manchester United.
The 20-year-old remains United’s priority target heading into the final seven days of the transfer window.
However, after setting United a deadline of August 10th to sign the £108million-rated winger, Dortmund have insisted ever since that the case is closed and that the midfielder will be staying at the club.
United are set to test Dortmund’s resolve for a final time this week with a take-it-or-leave-it bid for Sancho and the fact Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are yet to move on to alternative targets suggests they still believe they can sign the former Manchester City star.
However, Zorc has suggested that Sancho will stay at the club by claiming the winger will spend a ‘fourth season’ at the club.
‘We have Jadon Sancho and Zagadou who are going to the fourth year at the club,’ said Zorc.
‘We have older players who have been in the team for 5 years or more. Borussia Dortmund always tries to keep a very strong team together.’
However, Solskjaer remains desperate to add to his squad and he had earmarked making as many as four signings at the start of the summer.
Should a deal for Sancho fail to materialise, United will look at alternative short-term options to fill the void on the right wing.
The club hope to complete a deal for Alex Telles in the coming days but there remains distance between United’s valuation of the defender and Porto’s asking price.
