Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl insists Jadon Sancho will not join Manchester United this summer.
The 20-year-old has been a leading target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this summer, having been identified by the Norwegian as his first choice transfer target in January 2019.
However, despite working on a month for 18 months, United are no closer to signing the former Manchester City winger with just over two weeks left of the transfer window.
A 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday angered supporters, who are desperate to see new faces at Old Trafford.
However, it looks like supporters will be frustrated further with a move for Sancho looking dead in the water following comments from Dortmund sporting director Kehl.
‘He [Jadon Sancho] is our player, and he will stay,’ said Kehl.
‘It was an important statement from the club because we have a certain responsibility. Without Jadon this team is weaker’.
However, United failed to do so, insisting that the coronavirus pandemic means there should be a reduction in Sancho’s valuation.
But Dortmund see no reason to sell given Sancho has two years left on his deal and United will likely face greater competition for the winger next summer if they fail to complete a deal in the next fortnight.
