Granada CF’s Nigerian forward, Edna Imade, has been named Liga F Player of the Month for December, capping a remarkable period in her debut season in Spain’s top-flight women’s league.
The 24-year-old striker netted three goals during the month, elevating her season tally to nine. This achievement places her second in the league’s scoring chart, trailing only Barcelona’s Ewa Pajor, who has ten goals.
Imade’s contributions have been instrumental in Granada’s impressive performance this season. The team currently sits sixth in the standings with 19 points from 13 matches. Notably, Imade has scored nine of Granada’s 20 league goals, accounting for 45% of the team’s total.
Her exceptional form has not gone unnoticed, as she surpassed notable talents from Real Madrid and Barcelona to secure the Player of the Month accolade.
Imade’s performances have also sparked interest from the Nigerian national team selectors, with many viewing her as a promising prospect for the Super Falcons.
Granada’s next Liga F fixture is scheduled for January 12, where they will face Real Madrid. Imade will be keen on maintaining her scoring streak against one of the league’s top sides.
