Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have announced that Daniel Levy has left his role as the Executive Chairman of the club after nearly 25 years.
The North London club made this known in a statement published on its official website on Thursday evening.
Tottenham Hotspur announces that Daniel Levy has today stepped down from his role as Executive Chairman after nearly 25 years.
The club praised Levy’s contribution to the club over the last 25 years: featuring in European competitions in 18 of the last 20 years, investment in players, the academy and the construction of a world class stadium and training facility.
Daniel Levy says he is proud to have built the club to be one of the heavyweights in Europe with the support of his team and other employees.
“Daniel Levy said: “I am incredibly proud of the work I have done together with the executive team and all our employees. We have built this club into a global heavyweight competing at the highest level. More than that, we have built a community. I was lucky enough to work with some of the greatest people in this sport, from the team at Lilywhite House and Hotspur Way to all the players and managers over the years.
“I wish to thank all the fans that have supported me over the years. It hasn’t always been an easy journey but significant progress has been made. I will continue to support this club passionately.”
Peter Carrington will step into the role of Non-Executive Chairman of the club.
Daniel Levy leaves Tottenham four months after the club lifted the Europa League – it’s first European title since 1984.
