Liverpool midfielder Fabinho is expected to recover from a hamstring strain in time to return after the international break.
The Brazilian was forced off during Liverpool’s Champions League group stage win against Midtjylland last week and there were fears that the midfielder could miss up to three months with action.
However, the Athletic report that Fabinho will be fine to return after the international break in time for Liverpool’s clash against Leicester City at Anfield.
‘I think he’ll be back straight after the international break. That’s the hope,’ Athletic reporter James Pearce said on the Red Agenda Podcast: “
‘Brazil were informed that he wouldn’t be fit enough to go away on international duty.
‘Klopp seemed pretty hopeful last week that he’d be able to’.
Fabinho has been pulled from Brazil’s upcoming internationals but he’ll be targeting a return against Brendan Rodgers’ high-flying Leicester after the break.
His injury means Fabinho will miss this weekend’s clash against title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad.
