Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo has hailed Harry Kane’s decision to commit his future to the north London club.

Kane has wanted to move to Manchester City all summer but, despite two official bids, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has held firm on his stance that the 28-year-old was not for sale at any price.

On Tuesday, Kane posted a message on his social media accounts confirming that he’d be staying at his boyhood club.

Espirito Santo has admitted he’s delighted that the England captain has decided to remain at the club.

‘Great news, fantastic news for everybody,’ he told a news conference.

‘Since Harry joined up he’s been working so this is what he value. His attitude in training sessions have been great so its finished. Harry’s going to be with us. He trained today and going to be an option for us tomorrow [against Pacos De Ferreira].

It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I’ve had in the last few weeks. 👏⚽

‘He’s one of the best players in the world, so we are delighted to have one more option to the season ahead of us.

The Spurs boss said that he was not concerned about Kane’s commitment to the club, despite him pushing for a move away.

‘I’m not worried at all, it’s day by day. He’s an option for tomorrow and this is the only thing [that matters],’ he said.

He was also asked about what message he had for his star striker, who could be in line to start in Tottenham’s Premier League match at home to Watford on Sunday.

‘Like I speak to all the players, get ready to help the team,’ he added.
