The 19-year-old delivered a man-of-the-match display in Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Krasnodar on Tuesday evening.
Gilmour made an impressive breakthrough last season before his campaign was cut short due to injury.
Following his return to action this month, Lampard has already stressed that Gilmour faces tough competition for a place in Chelsea’s midfield.
The Scotland Under-21 international has reportedly attracted interest from Napoli, who are keen on a loan deal next month.
But Lampard believes Gilmour ‘has a lot to offer’ Chelsea and suggests the midfielder is part of his first-team plans for the remainder of the season.
‘I thought Billy was outstanding,’ Lampard said after his side’s draw with Krasnodar in the Champions League.
‘The way he played today and how he trains, I see him growing with us.
‘He made that pathway right last season and then got injured at the wrong time but playing like he did today, he’s got a lot to offer us.’
