Cech made 494 appearances for the Blues and helped the club win four Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League.
The Czech Republic hero retired at the end of the 2018-19 season but was a surprise inclusion in Chelsea’s Premier League squad for the 2020-21 campaign.
Lampard has confirmed new signing Edouard Mendy is currently Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper, with £71m flop Kepa falling down the pecking order.
But should Mendy be absent for any reason, former Premier League stars Bent and Sinclair believe Chelsea should turn to Cech rather than Kepa.
Bent told talkSPORT: ‘It’s a difficult question. For me, I’m picking anybody except Kepa. I would go with Petr Cech.
‘He [Kepa] has got no confidence already. It’s already on the floor. He’s got none. Imagine if you then go and play Petr Cech over him as well. What happens to him then?
‘But every time Kepa plays he costs them goals and points.
‘[Cech] is a Champions League winner. If you’ve got a goalkeeper out there who is costing you points and you keep playing him out there, playing him out there and playing him out there, it might end up costing Frank his job.’
‘The goals he conceded at the weekend against Southampton were abysmal. He showed no bottle at all.
‘He should have been going for that with his hands, trying to shield the ball and make sure it doesn’t end up in the back of his net.’
