Gabriel Martinelli is looking forward to playing alongside Willian and believes the new Arsenal signing will help the Gunners win titles.
Willian, 32, was snapped up from Chelsea on a free transfer and could go straight into Mikel Arteta’s side.
The Brazilian’s arrival will mean more competition for places, but Martinelli insisted he was pleased with the signing.
Asked who Willian could possibly replace in the side, Martinelli told Youtube channel Desimpedidos: ‘It could be me. He is a great player.
‘He has won a lot and he is going to help us to win titles.’
Martinelli is expected to miss the rest of the year to a knee injury after ending a superb debut season on a sour note.
The 19-year-old was an instant hit at the Emirates and says he models his attitude on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s mentality.
He said: ‘I always idolised Cristiano Ronaldo as I have said in many interviews, the way he is always giving 110 per cent and he is always breaking records- I want to mirror that.
‘But in this team I look up to Auba, he is an incredible guy. He is always scoring goals, in the games and in training he always wants more.
‘He always wants to win and is always giving 100 per cent. That’s the mentality I want to follow.’
