Real Madrid misfit Luka Jovic has been ‘seduced’ by the prospect of a temporary move to Manchester United, according to reports in Spain.

United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to add a centre-forward to his ranks for the new campaign and the club are exploring deals for free agent Edinson Cavani and Jovic, who has struggled to live up to expectations since arriving at the Bernabeu in June 2019.

Advanced discussions have taken place with Jovic’s camp and Madrid are open to a loan agreement as they are keen for the Serbian to regain his confidence elsewhere. The La Liga champions are confident he will come good despite a difficult start to his career in the Spanish capital.

According to AS, talks are progressing in the right direction as a temporary switch to Old Trafford would appear to suit all parties and Jovic is ‘seduced’ by the idea of playing for United at the Theatre of Dreams.

However, the report suggests Serie A giants Inter Milan, AC Milan and Roma are still in the hunt for Jovic’s signature. Roma came closest to reaching an agreement for the the striker before United entered the picture.

The Red Devils are aware that they would have to pay Jovic’s €8million (£7.3m) salary to have the 22-year-old until the end of the season.

Solskjaer has been playing Anthony Martial as a No.9 in recent months and Jovic’s potential arrival could see the Frenchman move back out wide again, with Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood also vying for places in United’s attack.

Donny van de Beek remains United’s sole addition with less than a week remaining of the summer transfer window and their failed attempts to sign Porto’s Alex Telles have been a source of real frustration.

The Premier League giants have had an initial bid of £12m turned down, with Porto demanding a fee of £18m for the Brazilian left-back.

It’s understood Telles has been pleading with Porto for them to lower their asking price as he looks to push through a move to United before the deadline.
