Rodri has revealed that he is eager to return to action this season, and winning the Ballon d’Or has offered him extra impetus.
The 28-year-old Spanish midfielder, who played a crucial role in City’s Premier League and UEFA Super Cup triumphs last season, is eager to return to action before the end of the season.
Speaking to Four Four Two, Rodri expressed his determination to make a comeback, saying:
“Everything seems to be going well with my rehab. Because of my injury, the award has been like a bottle of oxygen for me.”
Rodri is keen to return before the end of the season, to play a role at the business end of the campaign, if possible.
“I want to come back this season; that would be important for me. I don’t know if I can, but I’d like to be involved for a month or two and finish the season.”
The champions have looked awful in their star player’s absence, failing to win any of their last 7 games, losing 6 in the process.
