Inter Milan are edging closer to retaining their Serie A title after a comfortable home win over Cagliari on Saturday evening.
The defending champions, off an impressive win over Bayern Munich in midweek breezed past the visitors to maintain top spot on the log.
Marko Arnautovic scored 13 minutes into kick off to give Inter Milan the lead. The Austrian striker received brilliant pass in the box and smashed the ball into the roof of the net.
Lautaro Martinez doubled the lead 13 minutes later with a cheeky minutes finish as he looped the ball over tje goalkeeper who was off his line.
Inter Milan went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead as the visitors struggled to aim at goal.
However, Roberto Piccoli scored frok a quite a difficult spot as he placed his header beyond Yan Sommer’s reach to reduce the deficit.
German defender Yann Bisseck scored with a bullet header rose highest in the box and powered a thumping header into goal as he restored Inter Milan’s two-goal cushion.
It ended 3-1 as Inter Milan maintained top spot on the log with 71 points – six points ahead of Napoli who play host to Empoli.
Meanwhile Juventus momentarily leapfrogged Atalanta after a narrow 2-1 win over relegation- threatened Lecce at the Allianz Stadium.
Venezia improved their chances of surviving relegation as they bagged a one-nil win over Parma who are close to being dragged into the fight for survival with eight matches left.
