Jadon Sancho has been omitted from Borussia Dortmund’s squad ahead of Wednesday’s German Super Cup against Bayern Munich, amid mounting speculation that Manchester United are to make a late attempt to sign the England international before the transfer window closes.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had earmarked the 20-year-old as his primary summer target but negotiations with Dortmund have failed to progress, with the Bundesliga club adamant that their prize asset would not be allowed to leave this summer, unless their valuation was met.
Sacnho featured in last weekend’s shock defeat against Augsburg, but will not play against Bayern tomorrow with the club’s official Twitter account confirming the winger is ill, along with goalkeeper Roman Burk.
Both players, however, have tested negative for Covid-19 and will not be required to enter into a period of self isolation.
