Real Betis legend Joaquin has taken aim at Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman, insisting he wouldn’t even trust him with the position of kit man.
The former Spain international endured a difficult six-month spell under Koeman at Valencia back in the 2007/08 season, with the two often butting heads.
Joaquin still hasn’t forgotten about the experience and has absolutely no desire to link back up with his former manager in any capacity.
‘It was not the most beautiful experience of my sporting career,’ Joaquin told El Larguero.
‘It was not a pleasant experience, but as I always say: one has to live with everything and what happened at that time.
‘I do not want to talk about this issue because honestly it hurts me what happened there, I had a bad time.’
When asked whether he would hire Koeman as manager if he were Betis president, Joaquin responded: ‘Not even as kitman!’
‘I turned the page, we told each other everything,’ Joaquin added.
‘Fortunately, it did not last long and we were able to save the year by ending as well as possible because the year was complicated.
‘[This weekend], he is not going to greet me and I am not going to greet him.’
