Goals from Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min were enough to send Spurs back to the top of the table, leaving Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal languishing in 15th in the Premier League table.
And Klinsmann couldn’t resist taking a pop at the Gunners when reacting to Tottenham’s comfortable 2-0 win.
When it was put to him that his former club are going to win the league, Klinsmann told ESPN: ‘I always said that, yes.
‘I love that table in the league right now. I really love it.
‘And I love where Arsenal is even more!’
‘Yeah, he’s proving people wrong,’ added Klinsmann.
‘It’s really wonderful to see because at the end of the day results are the most important thing for Tottenham.
‘But Jose is a master in all these psychological games. He knows that people are very critical of him because of his style of play.
‘He knows he has to in certain areas win people over but he’s very thoughtful, he’s very determined but we also cannot forget that the base of that team is the base of what [Mauricio] Pochettino built.
‘Pochettino built that squad and he kind of added a couple of pieces to it, Jose, but he’s now grateful to have a wonderful roster and he knows the expectations is to deliver a title to Spurs and I think he’s on a good path, a very good path.’
