The Reds were surprisingly below-par against the Serie A side, failing to register a single shot on target at Anfield.
Liverpool put in their most complete performance of the season with a 3-0 win against Leicester on Saturday but the return of Mohamed Salah to the starting line-up couldn’t guarantee the side’s passage through to the last-16.
Klopp has spoken out against the ‘farcical’ scheduling of the Premier League and he’s unhappy that his side have to take on Brighton at the Amex Stadium at 12:30pm on Saturday.
With that in mind, the German says he has no option but to make several changes to his side.
‘Brighton make the pitch really big and we will have to run a lot,’ Klopp told BT Sport.
‘We have to make changes for Saturday, and we will have to make changes next Tuesday. It is a tough period that we have to go through.’
The Reds face Ajax at home before taking on Midtjylland in their final match in the group.
Klopp admits his side’s performance was nowhere near good enough and the German made no excuses for his side’s lack of firepower.
‘If you don’t have a shot on target, it’s never a good sign,’ said Klopp.
‘Football is all about decision making. Tonight our decision making was obviously not so good. We made five changes, it didn’t work out. I would do it again.’
