Liverpool will not entertain the sale of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, according to reports.
Wolves have shown an interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain and have already signed one player from Liverpool this month – defender Ki-Jana Hoever.
But the Mirror claim that Liverpool will make it clear to any side that makes an offer for Oxlade-Chamberlain that he is not for sale.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has experienced injury issues at Liverpool, but has been an important player for Jurgen Klopp when fit.
The 27-year-old still has three years left on his current deal and is very happy at Anfield.
Oxlade-Chamberlain finished the campaign as Liverpool’s top goalscoring midfielder and is recovering from a knee injury he picked up in pre-season.
It is unclear when Oxlade-Chamberlain will return to action, but Thiago was immediately included in Liverpool’s squad at Chelsea.
Fans were hoping Thiago might start against Chelsea, but Klopp explained why the Spaniard was named on the bench.
‘I didn’t think for one second about starting him,’ Klopp told Sky Sports.
‘Whenever he plays with us, it’ll be different because they [Bayern] play with two midfielders, a No.6 and a No.10, and we play most of the time differently.
‘There was no chance [Thiago would start].’
