Lyon are closing in on signing a replacement for Arsenal transfer target Houssem Aouar after agreeing an £18million deal with AC Milan for Lucas Paqueta.
Paqueta has reportedly said goodbye to his team-mates and staff in Milan and has agreed personal terms with Lyon.
The 23-year-old Brazilian is set to sign a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 side.
And according to Di Marzio, he has already left Milan and will be announced as a Lyon player shortly.
His arrival could pave the way for Aouar to sign for the Gunners.
Arsenal are still locked in negotiations for the Frenchman after seeing their initial £30million offer knocked back.
While he has three years left on his contract, Lyon are under pressure to sell amid financial uncertainty as a result of the coronavirus crisis.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas wants more than £40m for the midfielder, who played a key role in Lyon’s surprise run to the semi-finals of the Champions League last season.
Asked about the nature of Arsenal’s opening bid and why it was rejected, Aulas said: ‘There was a timid offer.
‘So it was not an offer that was even susceptible to making us consider a sale.’
