Mac Allister, Kelleher, Alvarez named in Champions League TOTW

Alexis Mac Allister, Caoimhin Kelleher and Julian Alvarez are among the players who made the UEFA Champions League Team of the Week for Matchday 5.

The Liverpool midfielder put in a stellar performance against defending champions, Real Madrid, scoring the opening goal as Liverpool defeated Real 2-0.

His teammate, Kelleher, also saved a Kylian Mbappe penalty to ensure Liverpool kept a clean sheet on the night, earning himself a spot in the team of the week.

Atletico Madrid striker, Julian Alvarez was also rewarded for his brace as Atletico cruised to a 6-0 victory against Sparta Prague.

Included in the team is Jurrien Timber who had one of his best performances ever in an Arsenal shirt in their 5-1 demolition of Sporting CP.

Kim Min Jae of Bayern Munich earns a spot in the defence after scoring the only goal in the win agaist PSG. Pau Cubarsi sits alongside him after his MOTM performance against Brest.

Others include; Florian Wirtz, who also scored a brace in Leverkusen’s 5-0 win against Salzburg, Malik Tillman, whose brace inspired PSV’s comeback against Shaktar Donetsk, Ramy Bensebaini (Dortmund), Rade Krunic (Crvena Zvezda) and Mateo Retegui (Atalanta).
