The United States international has struggled to make an impact this season due to injury but in his debut season at Chelsea the 22-year-old finished the Premier League campaign with nine goals and four assists.
Cancelo, meanwhile, has been one of City’s star performers this season as Pep Guardiola’s side lead the way in the Premier League.
But the Portugal international admits he found it difficult in the two games he’s played against Pulisic during City’s clashes with Chelsea.
When asked to name his toughest opponent, Cancelo said in an interview with Star Sports: ‘I usually chat with my teammates about it.
‘It may sound strange but for me the most difficult winger I have faced in the Premier League is Pulisic from Chelsea.
‘He is a very skilful and fast player with the ball with quick dribbles.
‘So for me he is the most difficult winger I have played.’
Pulisic is currently struggling for playing time under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea and has started just one game since the German replaced Frank Lampard as manager at the end of January.
Speaking earlier this week, Tuchel admitted that he has been ‘a bit unfair’ on Pulisic but urged the winger to be patient.
‘Maybe Christian’s problem is I know from Dortmund how strong he is from the bench,’ Tuchel said after Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Everton on Monday.
‘He was a bit unlucky in the last games but there’s no lack of trust or quality. He just has to be a bit patient.’
