Manchester United have reportedly been offered encouragement in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho and have launched a fresh bid for the Borussia Dortmund star.
United chiefs have lodged a £90million offer for the England international, plus a further £18m due in performance-related add-ons.
The fee would be paid in installments over the next two or three seasons and would set a transfer record for an English player.
Dortmund, however, are keen to stick to their original £108m valuation, according to the Guardian.
United feel that’s unrealistic in the current climate but Dortmund chiefs are not budging, despite positive talks in recent weeks.
They have seen Chelsea pay a fee that could rise for £70m for Kai Havertz and don’t see any reason why their price should be dropped.
Sancho has agreed personal terms with the Red Devils and would earn £250,000-a-week, while potential agent fees have also been agreed.
Sancho has made it clear he wants to move back to England, however, he will not push for a move and will stay at Dortmund if no fee is agreed.
