Manchester United transfer target Sergio Reguilon has eased fears over the severity of his ankle injury after hitting the deck during Spain’s 4-0 win over Ukraine on Sunday.

The left-back’s fine international debut ended sourly when he suffered a nasty looking injury upon colliding with Viktor Kovalenko in stoppage time.

Reguilon let out an audible shriek of pain as his left foot rolled on the pitch.

Una semanita y como nuevo 😜

The official Twitter account for Spain’s national team released an update stating the defender suffered an external sprain to the left ankle.

And the 23-year-old took to social media himself to alleviate any fears of a long-term problem.

He said: ‘One week and like new.’

Reguilon has reportedly been offered to United as Real Madrid favour Marcelo and Ferland Mendy in his position.

The left-back spent a successful year on loan at Sevilla last season and is valued at around £18million.

The Spaniard was also on Chelsea’s shortlist as an alternative to their £50million acquisition Ben Chilwell.
