Matteo Guendouzi insists he is aiming to win back his place under Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.
The 21-year-old was frozen out of the first team by Arteta towards the end of last season after he taunted Brighton’s players over how much they were earning.
It’s understood that Guendouzi had asked to leave Arsenal during a disciplinary meeting with the club’s hierarchy in June, but the midfielder was not sold during the summer window.
Instead, Guendouzi joined Hertha Berlin on loan for the season, while his contract with Arsenal is due to end next year.
However, Guendouzi has shown no indication that he plans to leave Arsenal this summer.
‘I am focused on my season with Hertha Berlin,’ Guendouzi told France Football.
‘Next, we will sit down with my entourage and people at the club to discuss the future. This summer will be a decisive moment.
‘I belong to Arsenal for another year.
‘I will work hard for the shirt as I have always done.’
