The German signed for the Gunners in a then-club record £42million deal from Real Madrid in 2013 and his arrival was met with huge fanfare.
While Ozil has had periods of success, his time at the club has been blighted by below-par performances and fallouts with Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta.
The playmaker has been ostracised in recent months and the club are keen on offloading him, particularly given he’s the club’s top earner on £350,000-a-week.
However, Ozil remains intent on seeing out his contract in north London and he says he has no regrets over joining the club.
In a class message to former boss Wenger, Ozil wrote on Instagram: ‘7 years ago I joined the @Arsenal family and Mon. Wenger ❤️🙏🏼
‘And I would not hesitate to do it all over again #anniversary #YaGunnersYa #M10’
However, clubs in Qatar and Saudi Arabaia have registered their interest in Ozil and vowed to match the German’s wages in order to attract him to the middle-east.
It remains to be seen whether Ozil will decide to leave but the playmaker hasn’t played for Arsenal since March and it’s clear his time is up at the club.
